In December of 2020, Truth Initiative and Kaiser Permanente, in collaboration with the American Heart Association, officially launched a national youth vaping prevention curriculum Vaping: Know the truth. The curriculum is a digital 4-lesson learning experience that provides young people with the facts about e-cigarette use and nicotine addiction. It is self-led and written and delivered in the truth, peer-to-peer voice. Attached is an overview of the curriculum.
In addition to empowering students to never vape in the first place, the curriculum also provides essential resources for youth who vape to quit. Vaping: Know the truth seamlessly links students to This is Quitting, a first-of-its-kind, text message quit vaping resource specifically designed for teens and young adults.
The program is free and now widely available to schools — teachers, students, and administrators.
